Sound Design for UI/UX Design

This project is a mobile app prototype created during my university coursework as part of an interactive design team. The goal was to design an engaging mobile application that encourages visitors to explore and learn about the historic buildings in Melbourne’s Chinatown.

Our team collaborated closely across all stages of the design process — from research and ideation to prototyping and sound design. Working together, we conducted design thinking sessions to understand user needs and mapped out user journeys to identify key interactive elements that would improve the experience.

My role in this project involved contributing to the interaction design and sound design elements of the app. I worked on implementing user interface audio feedback, supporting the overall UX, and ensuring consistency between visual and interactive elements. I also assisted in organising design assets and documentation, and participated in group critiques and iterative improvements.

Collaborating with my teammates allowed us to integrate diverse perspectives, iterate on ideas efficiently, and produce a prototype that demonstrates both creative problem-solving and effective teamwork. The experience strengthened my ability to communicate design decisions, work with collaborative tools, and adapt to feedback — all essential skills for interactive and UX design.
